Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was cited for speeding on a suburban Cleveland highway early Saturday morning, according to court documents. Garrett was clocked driving at 100 mph in an area where the speed limit is 60 mph.<\/p>\n
A team spokesperson confirmed that the Browns are aware of the incident.<\/p>\n
According to records, Garrett was arrested at 2:01 a.m. in Strongsville, Ohio. He was fined $250 and does not need to appear in court on Thursday morning if he pays the fine.<\/p>\n
The Browns played their first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday night; Garrett was one of several veterans who did not participate in the game.<\/p>\n
Garrett participated in the training camp practice on Monday morning. The Browns are holding joint practices with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n
This incident occurs three years after Garrett was cited for “failure to control his vehicle” following a single-car accident that caused him a sprained left shoulder and a strained right bicep, after his vehicle ran off the road and overturned. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Garrett was driving at a “speed unsafe for the type of road” he was on, which contributed to the accident.<\/p>\n
