Matthew Stafford Absent from Rams Practice<\/h2>\n

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford did not participate in Monday’s practice, despite being expected to join individual drills as part of his return from a back disc injury.<\/p>\n

Monday’s practice was slated as the next step in Stafford’s return, after he threw 68 passes on Saturday morning at the Rams’ training facility.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, coach Sean McVay had expressed his expectation that Stafford would participate in individual exercises the next day, with the intention of “taking it day by day” from that moment.<\/p>\n

However, Stafford was present at practice in street clothes, entering a “restoration and rejuvenation” chamber located next to the Rams’ training field.<\/p>\n

McVay is scheduled to speak with the media after practice.<\/p>\n

When asked on Saturday night if Stafford was still dealing with back pain or discomfort, McVay responded: “I don’t know. That’s something you’d have to talk to him about.”<\/p>\n
