McMahon&#8217;s at-bat ended with a fly ball to center field.\n\nAfter the Yankees&#8217; 7-1 defeat, Boone commented.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;I was on him a lot in the early innings. That&#8217;s already happened and it is what it is, and that&#8217;s not the reason we lost this game.&#8221;<\/p><cite>Aaron Boone, Yankees Manager<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nLast season, Boone was ejected six times.\n\nSince taking over as manager in 2018, Boone has been ejected 44 times.\n\nThe Astros were leading 2-0 when Boone was ejected.\n\nIn the fifth inning, Yankees starting pitcher Max Fried thought a third strike had been called against Cam Smith, but a ball was called. Smith finished the at-bat with a two-run double, extending the Astros&#8217; lead to 4-0.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>&#8220;It would have been nice,&#8221; Fried said. &#8220;Nobody&#8217;s going to look back and really care.
