The players are frustrated. Sometimes, I have been too. But I think this is a good offensive team. I trust the offense we have and I am sure we will see it in the future.<\/p><cite>David Stearns<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nStearns also showed his support for batting coaches Eric Chavez and Jeremy Barnes.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I have confidence in our hitting coaches. I believe we have good hitting coaches. They have a track record of helping to lead and put together very good quality offenses.<\/p><cite>David Stearns<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe Mets, before Friday&#8217;s game, had not surpassed three runs in five of their last eight games.\n\nSo far this season, the Mets ranked 15th in runs scored, 23rd in batting average, 15th in on-base percentage, 14th in slugging percentage, and 13th in OPS.\n\nThese results do not meet expectations for a lineup that features players like Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, and Pete Alonso.\n\nLast year, the Mets ranked seventh in runs scored, 12th in batting average, eighth in on-base percentage, 10th in slugging percentage, and ninth in OPS, which allowed them to reach the playoffs.\n\nBoth Stearns and manager Carlos Mendoza pointed to the Mets&#8217; hitters&#8217; history as a reason to believe in a quick improvement.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>They&#8217;re really good players and they&#8217;ve done it before.
