Enrico Cardile Joins Aston Martin as Technical Director<\/h2>\n\n\nAston Martin has officially confirmed the incorporation of Enrico Cardile as Technical Director of its Formula 1 team, coming from Ferrari.\n\nCardile, who left his position as technical director of Ferrari in mid-2024, had agreed to join Aston Martin. However, the two teams were involved in a prolonged dispute over Cardile’s start date.\n\nThe Italian engineer was one of the signings made by Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll, with the aim of turning the team into a championship contender from 2026. Among these signings are the legendary designer Adrian Newey and the former Mercedes engine guru, Andy Cowell.\n\nEarlier this year, Ferrari obtained a court order preventing Cardile from engaging with Aston Martin until the end of his “gardening leave” period. The court determined that Cardile could not start working with Aston Martin before July 18th.\n\nThe Italian team stated that the court had found that “our former employee was already violating the non-compete agreement with Ferrari, whose purpose was precisely to prevent other F1 teams from gaining an unjustified competitive advantage by hiring Cardile before allowed, causing irreparable damage to Ferrari.”\n\n\n
