Protest Against the Glazers and Ratcliffe at Manchester United<\/h2>\n\nThe Manchester United fan group “The 1958” has announced a new protest against the Glazer family and, for the first time, against Sir Jim Ratcliffe, before the start of the Premier League against Arsenal.\n\nThe group, known for organizing numerous demonstrations in recent years demanding a change of ownership, will march towards Old Trafford on August 17th.\n\nRatcliffe, who owns 28.94% of United’s shares, has overseen significant changes, some of them unpopular, since taking over daily operational control from the Glazers in February 2024.\n\n\n

It’s a new season, but the same ownership problems. Twenty years of the Glazers and their mountain of debt is too long. Enough is enough.<\/p>The 1958 Spokesperson<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe spokesperson for “The 1958” added that they will not allow natural optimism and new additions to divert attention from the overall picture off the field.\n\n\n

Jim Ratcliffe, you have chosen your side and it is not ours. Now you are shoulder to shoulder with the Glazers. The mask has fallen. You are not a savior. You are like a [red] devil in disguise.<\/p>The 1958<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nRatcliffe suggested in March that he would walk away from United if he suffered the level of abuse directed at the Glazer family.\n\n\n

It can be unpleasant.
