The Milwaukee Brewers’ star rookie, Jacob Misiorowski, has been placed on the injured list due to a contusion on his left tibia, the team reported before Sunday’s scheduled game against the Washington Nationals.<\/p>\n
Misiorowski told reporters that he expects to miss approximately two starts and be back in action after 15 days. The injured list designation goes back to Thursday.<\/p>\n
The right-handed pitcher suffered a blow to the shin after a hit by Chicago Cubs player Seiya Suzuki during the first inning of his last start on Monday. Subsequently, in the same inning, after picking up a ground ball in front of the mound, Misiorowski’s knee buckled while making a wild pitch to first base, allowing two runners to score.<\/p>\n
Despite the situation, Misiorowski, 23, continued in the game, pitching three more innings before being relieved after 80 pitches. So far this season, the pitcher has a 4-1 record with 47 strikeouts in 33\u2153 innings.<\/p>\n
In a related move, the Brewers called up right-handed pitcher Logan Henderson from Triple-A Nashville to start against the Nationals on Sunday.<\/p>\n
