Fortunately, tests confirmed that there was no damage to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), according to a source.\n\nThe Bills have not yet specified a timeline for Hairston&#8217;s return to activity.\n\nThe injury, described by cornerback Dane Jackson as a &#8220;minor stumble,&#8221; occurred during a training exercise at training camp at St. John Fisher University. Hairston was competing for the second cornerback position with veteran Tre&#8217;Davious White.\n\nOther cornerbacks on the roster, such as Dane Jackson and Ja&#8217;Marcus Ingram, are also in the fight for a spot on the team.\n\nHead athletic trainer Nate Breske attended to Hairston on the field. Christian Benford and Tre&#8217;Davious White approached to speak with Hairston before he was assisted to the medical tent.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n\n<p>&#8220;I was upset, because he&#8217;s a good-hearted guy, someone you work with a lot off the field, you dedicate a lot of time to, and then he goes down like that, something happens to him,&#8221; Benford said. &#8220;&#8230; You never want that to happen. You don&#8217;t even wish it on your worst enemies.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<cite>Christian Benford<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nNickel corner Taron Johnson mentioned that the team said a prayer for Hairston.\n\nHairston, who will turn 22 on August 6, did not return to the field.
