The International Testing Agency (ITA) has announced the provisional suspension of the Olympic heavyweight champion, Lazizbek Mullojonov, after testing positive for a prohibited substance.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old Uzbek boxer underwent an out-of-competition doping control on June 11, where the presence of metasterone was detected.<\/p>\n
Metasterone is a synthetic anabolic-androgenic steroid known for promoting accelerated muscle growth, increased strength, and power.<\/p>\n
The athlete has been informed of the case and has the right to request the analysis of the B sample.<\/p>\n
The ITA reported that, if the analysis of sample B is requested and confirms the result of sample A, it will be considered a confirmed violation of anti-doping rules. If the analysis of sample B is not requested, the case will also proceed as a confirmed violation.<\/p>\n
The organization also indicated that the athlete will have the opportunity to present their explanations regarding the results.<\/p>\n
