The ball, a product of the hit, bounced towards foul territory, resulting in a double. Cease, after the impact, remained on the pitcher&#8217;s mound, touching his head with his right hand.<\/p>\n<p>The pitcher was evaluated by the coaches, manager Mike Shildt, and pitching coach Ruben Niebla. After throwing some warm-up pitches, Cease continued in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Subsequently, Cease managed to strike out Juan Soto and Mets manager Carlos Mendoza was ejected from the game for arguing the decision.
