The incident occurred in a hotel room in London, Ontario, on June 19, 2018.\n\nThe trial, which included a mistrial and the dismissal of the jury, generated great anticipation for years. The NHL Players’ Association argues that players should have the opportunity to return to the ice.\n\nProsecutor Meaghan Cunningham thanked the plaintiff for appearing and announced that her team will review the judge’s decision within the 30-day appeal period.\n\nThe woman testified that she felt compelled to act as she did due to the situation she was in.\n\nDefense attorneys questioned her testimony, suggesting that she actively participated in the sexual activity.
