Former UFC fighter Diego S\u00e1nchez was arrested Thursday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on suspicion of firing a firearm from the window of a moving vehicle.<\/p>\n
According to online records, Sanchez, 43, faces charges for shooting from or at a motor vehicle (with great bodily harm) and negligent use of a deadly weapon. His bail has not yet been set.<\/p>\n
The police report indicates that the shot came from a Jeep Gladiator while passing by a traffic accident. Although he was arrested, Sanchez denied having fired the weapon.<\/p>\n
The vehicle’s driver was not arrested in connection with the incident.<\/p>\n
S\u00e1nchez was released by the UFC in 2020 after a series of unsuccessful performances and a public dispute with his then-manager. He competed in bare-knuckle boxing in 2023 and was scheduled to do so again earlier this year, but the event was canceled.
