This Friday, Nola completed a 56-pitch throwing session, marking a significant milestone in his return.

According to sources, Nola could make his first rehabilitation opening in the minor leagues next week.

The ankle took longer than I thought, but it felt really good today, and the rib also felt really good.
Aaron Nola

Nola suffered an ankle injury during agility drills on May 8. After two underperforming starts, he was placed on the injured list on May 15.

After a bullpen session on June 1, Nola felt discomfort, and an MRI revealed a stress fracture in a rib. Phillies manager Rob Thomson revealed the injury on June 10.

I’d like to see him get to at least 90 pitches.
