This designation is a just tribute to a figure who has marked generations,\u201d expressed Marmolejos.<\/p><cite>Nelson Rafael Marmolejos<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nOriginally from Santiago de los Caballeros, Dilon\u00e9 debuted in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1974. However, his legacy was primarily forged in the Dominican Republic Professional Baseball League (LIDOM), where he played 18 seasons with the \u00c1guilas Cibae\u00f1as, being known as &#8220;La Saeta Cibae\u00f1a&#8221; for his speed and playing style.\n\nIn addition to his career as a player, Dilon\u00e9 also served as a manager for the Cibao team, solidifying a comprehensive career in Dominican baseball.\n\nAt 70 years old, Dilon\u00e9 has overcome various health problems, including a stroke in 2016 and the loss of his left eye in 2009. Despite these challenges, his legacy endures.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Numbers That Highlight His Career<\/h2>\n\n\nMiguel Dilon\u00e9 is the second player with the most hits connected in the history of Dominican winter baseball, with a total of 877 hits, only surpassed by Luis Polonia (927). His statistics in the LIDOM are notable:\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2,929 at bats<\/li><li>877 hits<\/li><li>.299 batting average<\/li><li>395 stolen bases<\/li><li>496 runs scored<\/li><li>213 runs batted in<\/li><li>40 triples and 85 doubles<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Next Steps<\/h2>\n\n\nFollowing approval in the first reading, the bill must be submitted to a second vote for final validation.
