At the age of four, Alex passed away due to complications from cancer treatment.\n\nThis Flemish giant, known for its size and spirit, became a symbol of comfort and joy in various settings, from sports stadiums to airports and community events.\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An Unforgettable Companion<\/h2>\n\n\nAlex, with his floppy ears and characteristic style, was a regular at sporting events. His presence at Oracle Park, the Giants&#8217; stadium, on June 4th, was a special moment. His debut at a Giants game in April 2021 marked a milestone, being the first rabbit in the stands of this stadium.\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/a1.espncdn.com\/combiner\/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2025%2F0721%2Fr1521900_1024x576_16%2D9.jpg\" alt=\"Alex The Great\" title=\"\"><figcaption>Alex The Great, conocido por su presencia en eventos deportivos, falleci\u00f3 tras complicaciones por el tratamiento contra el c\u00e1ncer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\nHis fondness for bow ties and his walks in his remote-controlled car were well known. In November 2021, he participated in an Arizona Fall League event at Scottsdale Stadium.\n\nRescued from a slaughterhouse by his owners, Kei Kato and Josh Row, Alex gave them a new purpose. He accompanied his owners on their travels and offered emotional support at San Francisco International Airport, along with his friend, a golden retriever.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>He saved us and many people.<\/p><cite>Kato<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nThe presence of Alex always generated amazement and joy, with fans stopping to take photos and selfies. Kato and Row felt happy to share Alex with the world, as he had given them so much love and joy, and they wanted to convey that to those who needed a smile or a moment of comfort.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>We well remember his frequent and surprising visits to the stadium. We remember the comfort he provided to those who loved him and the joy he brought to so many.<\/p><cite>Larry Baer, CEO of the Giants<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nAfter losing her restaurant during the pandemic, Kato found a new purpose in Alex, helping her deal with anxiety and stress.\n\nIn May 2021, Alex was also present at a Suns vs. Warriors game at the Chase Center, where he was also very well-liked.
