In a display of flawless pitching and timely offense, the Toros del Este prevailed 3-0 against the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Francisco A. Micheli Stadium. With this result, the team from La Romana achieves its second shutout of the current 2026-27 autumn-winter baseball season, consolidating its position in the standings.

The victory was cemented by a masterful pitching performance. Evan Grills, the Toros’ starter, completed five scoreless innings, allowing only five hits and recording three strikeouts without issuing any walks. The bullpen was equally effective, highlighted by the debut of Nicaraguan Carlos Rodríguez, who worked the final three innings, allowing three hits and striking out three batters to earn his first save of the campaign.

Dominance from the mound was the key to slowing down the Aguilas’ offense and allowing our attack to take control of the game at the precise moment.
Alofoke Deportes

The decisive rally began with a walk to Juan Brito and a single by Jesús Sánchez, setting the stage for the key actions:

- Francisco Urbáez drove in the first run with a base hit to left field.

- Enmanuel Valdez hit a crucial double to center field that drove in Sánchez and Urbáez, sealing the final 3-0 score.

Enmanuel Valdez finished the day 4-for-1 with two RBIs, while Jesús Sánchez contributed to the cause by batting 2-for-3 with one run scored.
