While the Milwaukee Brewers maintain an outstanding performance in Major League Baseball, their farm system continues to be a gold mine of talent that is now being put at the service of the Dominican Republic. The Dominican Baseball Federation (Fedom) has confirmed that a group of high-level prospects from this organization will be a key piece in the upcoming U-18 World Cup Qualifier, a tournament that will be held in the country from October 22 to 29.

The Dominican roster will feature high-potential figures, highlighting the presence of outfielder Argeni Fernández and infielders Leanders Matos and Ricki Moneys. The latter has positioned himself as one of the most followed names, currently occupying the 15th spot among the best prospects in the Milwaukee organization.

Born in San Pedro de Macorís, Moneys signed for a $1.15 million bonus and has quickly shown that his talent justifies the investment. During his performance in the Dominican Summer League (DSL), he was selected for the All-Star team after a brilliant campaign in which he recorded a .289 average, hit 21 extra-base hits—including five home runs and five triples—and achieved 28 stolen bases in 53 games.

A first season that left us with many lessons and growth in maturity and focus. It is the first time the three of us are here and we are going to represent the Dominican Republic.
Ricki Moneys

Moneys stands out for his power hitting ability, quick hands, and impressive exit velocity. His defensive versatility, alternating between shortstop and third base, complemented by a strong arm, make him a fundamental piece for the national team.

Leanders Matos and Argeni Fernández: Offensive and defensive pillar

San Cristóbal native Leanders Matos arrives at the Pre-World Cup following an outstanding season in the Milwaukee farm system, where he was recognized for his performance in the playoffs. With a 1.045 OPS, the eleventh best in the Summer League, Matos demonstrated an exceptional ability to hit with power and reach base, closing his participation with 10 home runs, 11 doubles, and 52 RBIs.

- Advanced discipline: Matos surpassed the number of strikeouts (32) with walks received (37), reflecting a selective criterion above average.

- Commitment: The player expressed his enthusiasm for representing the country and highlighted the importance of maintaining a positive attitude under the guidance of the coaching staff.

For his part, Argeni Fernández, a native of Yamasá, brings balance to the team with his performance in center field. During his 48-game debut, Fernández posted a .278 average and a notable .406 on-base percentage.
