Tim Tszyu promises smarter boxing in the rematch against Fundora<\/h2>\n\nAfter a tough experience in the past, a renewed Tim Tszyu is committed to demonstrating his improved intelligence in the highly anticipated rematch for the world title against Sebastian Fundora.\n\nTszyu, like Manny Pacquiao, received a warm welcome after the official weigh-in in Las Vegas, where he presented himself in optimal physical condition.\n\nWhile enjoying the “unreal” atmosphere before the event at the iconic MGM Grand, Tszyu assured he was focused for the most important fight of his life.\n\nThe 30-year-old boxer vowed to leave behind the risky tactics that cost him a tough defeat against Bakhram Murtazaliev in his previous fight for the world title in Florida, in October.\n\n\n

Strategic,” Tszyu replied when asked about his fighting style.\n\nTszyu explained that a patient approach is key to his success.\n\n“I feel that a patient Tim Tszyu always brings out the best in me.”\n\nTim Tszyu\n\nThe former WBO super welterweight champion believes he learned valuable lessons in the consecutive defeats suffered last year against Fundora and Murtazaliev in the United States.\n\n\n

“One grows as a person,” he commented.<\/p>Tim Tszyu<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nTszyu feels more disciplined and believes that adversity has taught him more than victories.\n\n\n

“I’m in a different moment now.<\/p>Tim Tszyu<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nTszyu claims that the past has made him the hungry and dangerous fighter he is today, ready to give it his all and achieve success.\n\n\n

“So for me this is a different phase than last year. I am more mature, I am hungrier and more confident”.<\/p>Tim Tszyu<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nFundora won last year’s epic fight by split decision, after Tszyu suffered a head cut that left him semi-blind after an elbow in the second round.\n\nThe American boxer claims he won’t need to change his strategy to win again, but Tszyu insists he will win no matter what his opponent proposes.\n\nTszyu’s undefeated younger brother, Nikita, often comments on how intimidating it is to enter the ring with his older brother, who possesses the cunning and spirit of his father, Hall of Famer Kostya’s “Soul Taker”.\n\nTszyu believes he has the answer to anything Fundora throws at him, and is convinced that the champion fears his power.\n\n\n

“Even the last time, as soon as I hit him, he started throwing jabs,” Tszyu said.<\/p>Tim Tszyu<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nTszyu invites Fundora to war and promises to throw the first punch, or receive it with open arms.\n\n“If you want to bring the war, I will throw the first punch.”\n\nTim Tszyu\n\nA victory for Tszyu’s son would make him the second father-son duo in history to win multiple world titles.\n\nTszyu is aware of the importance of the fight.\n\n“I know my father won his first world title here,” Tszyu said.\n\nTszyu also mentioned his father’s fight against Zab Judah and the responsibility involved in creating an Australian sporting legacy.\n\nTszyu hopes to live a young man’s dream and create some of the greatest sporting moments in Australian history.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
