Jake Bauers, a key piece in the Milwaukee Brewers’ offense, was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the National League Championship Series. His performance was fundamental for the team to achieve a resounding 4-0 sweep over the Los Angeles Dodgers, thus securing their return to the Fall Classic after a 44-year wait.

Bauers demonstrated impressive consistency by hitting safely in each of the four games of the series, accumulating a total of six runs batted in, the highest figure on the Milwaukee roster.

A historic performance for the Brewers

The 31-year-old player’s impact was not only reflected in his statistics, but in his ability to appear in high-pressure moments. During the fourth and decisive game, Bauers started the comeback with a two-run double and later tied the score after drawing a bases-loaded walk.

With his six RBIs in this series, Bauers tied a historic franchise postseason record, joining legendary and contemporary figures such as:

Jackson Chourio (2025 and 2026 Division Series)

Ryan Braun (2011 NLCS)

Cecil Cooper (1982 World Series)

Robin Yount (1982 World Series)

The recognition has a special meaning for Milwaukee, which waited 44 years to return to the World Series and had never had a player chosen as League Championship Series MVP.

Discipline and power on the plate

Beyond the power, Bauers’ patience at the plate was a determining factor in destabilizing the Dodgers’ pitching. In the second game, he starred in an epic 12-pitch at-bat against Yoshinobu Yamamoto that lasted more than seven minutes. That walk proved crucial for Christian Yelich to capitalize with an RBI single that changed the course of the game.

His adaptability was also evident in the third game, where he hit a two-run home run against star pitcher Blake Snell, following an at-bat that required 11 pitches. This hit was not only a statistical milestone, being one of the few postseason home runs hit in an at-bat of 11 or more pitches since 1988, but it also confirmed Bauers as a hitter capable of deciphering the league’s best pitchers.

With this triumph, the Milwaukee team not only celebrates their star’s MVP, but also prepares to compete in the World Series, consolidating a sports project that has put an end to more than four decades of drought in the Old Circuit.

Jake Bauers establishes himself as NLCS MVP The Major League postseason has an undisputed protagonist.
