According to data revealed by the most recent national survey from the firm Markestrategia, the former Minister of Public Works, Gonzalo Castillo, is positioned as the undisputed favorite among the supporters of the purple organization.<\/p>\n\n<p>The study, conducted during the first days of October 2026, places Castillo with 61.0% support among respondents who identify with the PLD. In Greater Santo Domingo, he leads with 43.7%, followed by the South with 39.3%, the North region with 35.7%, and the East with 32.6%. Regarding age groups, the former official maintains balanced support, exceeding 40% among young people aged 18 to 29 and in the segment of those over 50 years old.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Study technical sheet<\/h2>\n\n<p>The survey was conducted by the firm Markestrategia, under the direction of statistician Guillermo Mateo. For this data collection, face-to-face interviews were carried out on October 2, 3, and 4, 2026.
