This act will also commemorate the anniversary of the death of prominent sports leaders.\n\nThe religious ceremony will take place in the Juan Ulises Garc\u00eda Saleta (Wiche) hall of the COD, starting at 11:00 in the morning. The main objective is to bless the Dominican athletes before their departure to the multi-sport competition.\n\nIn addition to the blessing of the athletes, the mass will remember two important figures in Dominican sports. The second anniversary of the death of Professor Luis Elpidio Cumba, which occurred on July 5, 2023, and the sixth year of the death of Professor Nelly Manuel Do\u00f1\u00e9, which is on the 29th of this month, will be commemorated.\n\nGaribaldy Bautista, president of the COD, and Luis Chanlatte, general secretary, were in charge of announcing this information. The Olympic organization has extended the invitation to federated members, athletes, sports officials, and personalities related to the sports movement.\n\nA prominent participation of the Dominican delegation in the games is expected.
