In a coordinated action, the Ukrainian army executed a drone attack this Friday against a data center of the Russian tech giant Yandex, located in the Kaluga region, less than 200 kilometers from Moscow.

This incident represents the second offensive of this nature in just 48 hours, marking a clear strategy of symmetrical response by Ukrainian forces to previous aggressions against their own telecommunications facilities.

Another data center has been attacked. Following that incident, various users in Russian territory experienced interruptions in access to institutional portals, media outlets, and government agencies.

From Kiev’s perspective, these operations are a direct response to the Russian bombardments recorded in September against data centers and communication nodes in Kiev and other Ukrainian cities. For its part, the Russian military command has justified its previous attacks by claiming that said Ukrainian facilities provided support to the activities of its armed forces.

Ukraine intensifies attacks against Russian digital infrastructure: Yandex under fire The conflict between Ukraine and Russia has escalated to a new technological dimension.
