Renowned Dominican merengue singer Miriam Cruz shared a concerning road rage incident she recently experienced while traveling through the intersection of John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln avenues in the National District. The artist, who was traveling with her husband, recounted how an unexpected traffic situation escalated to the point of putting her physical safety at risk.

As the interpreter explained, the altercation began when a motorcyclist traveling on the right side of her vehicle fell near the curb. Although the couple was driving in compliance with traffic regulations, the motorcyclist reacted violently after getting up from the ground.

Thank God we are fine. Driving implies responsibility, prudence and respect, but also knowing how to handle any situation without resorting to violence.
Miriam Cruz, Dominican artist.

The aggressor took a stone and threw it directly at the rear window of the SUV in which the couple was traveling. The impact was forceful, managing to break the glass and allowing the object to end up inside the vehicle. Fortunately, both Cruz and her husband were unharmed after the incident.

A call for prudence and civic coexistence

After the incident, the merengue singer decided to make the complaint public with the goal of raising awareness about behavior on public roads. Cruz emphasized that no traffic setback justifies an aggressive reaction that compromises the safety of other citizens.

- The importance of staying calm in the face of unforeseen events on the streets.

- Mutual respect as a fundamental basis for coexistence between drivers, motorcyclists, and pedestrians.

- The call to authorities and society to foster a more responsible road culture.

Finally, the artist expressed her gratitude that the incident did not escalate and reiterated her invitation to the public to reflect on the need to commute with greater civility, especially in a city with such complex vehicular traffic as Santo Domingo.
