The Philadelphia 76ers marked their territory at the start of the NBA preseason after imposing themselves with authority 120-97 against the New York Knicks. Despite the expectation generated by the new sports project in Philadelphia, the team achieved a resounding victory without the need to have their top stars on the court.

The match was marked by the absence of the franchise players. LeBron James, whose recent addition to the 76ers following his departure from the Los Angeles Lakers has been the league’s most impactful move, did not see action in this contest. Likewise, the coaching staff decided to rest Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, allowing other members of the roster to take center stage.

Young talent and new additions demonstrated bench depth, managing to overcome a New York squad that kept key pieces like Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, and Josh Hart on the court.

Alofoke Deportes

The Philadelphia offense was led by Jaylen Brown, who shone in his debut with the team following his stint with the Boston Celtics. Brown recorded 22 points in just under 17 minutes of play. For his part, second-year player VJ Edgecombe contributed 12 points to seal the victory.

On the Knicks’ side, the offensive effort was distributed, highlighting the performances of Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby, who finished the game with 12 points each in the time they were on the court.

With this result, both teams continue their preparation for the official start of the NBA regular season, scheduled for next October 20th.

Philadelphia 76ers dominate the Knicks in their preseason debut The Philadelphia 76ers marked their territory at the start of the NBA preseason after imposing themselves with authority 120-97 against the New York Knicks.
