The Dominican Football Federation (Fedofútbol) has taken decisive measures following the controversial events recorded during the match between the national teams of the Dominican Republic and Haiti, played on October 1, 2026. The organization has filed a formal complaint with the disciplinary committees of Concacaf and FIFA, seeking an evaluation of the behavior of Haitian player Wilson Isidor.

During the match, the forward expressed slogans such as “Hispaniola is Haiti” and “this is Haiti” on the field of play. These statements have been described by Dominican authorities as a serious breach of the principles governing sports discipline and respect between nations.

The management led by José Deschamps has made it clear that it will not overlook this type of provocation. Through an official statement, the entity reported that it has provided all the necessary evidence for international bodies to determine the appropriate sanctions.

The Federation has submitted the relevant documentation and supporting elements to the competent bodies, leaving the assessment of the facts and the adoption of the corresponding measures in accordance with their regulations in their hands.
Official statement from Fedofútbol

Defense of national sovereignty

Beyond sports competition, Fedofútbol emphasized that these types of incidents undermine fundamental values. The institution highlighted the following points in its public stance:

- The firm commitment to respect international football regulations.

- The unrestricted defense of the sovereignty of the Dominican Republic.

- The protection of territorial integrity and respect for the national Constitution, which must prevail in any sporting scenario.

With this action, Dominican soccer seeks to set a precedent to ensure that stadiums remain spaces for healthy competition, free from manifestations that compromise the dignity and sovereignty of the participating countries.
