Legendary Hall of Famer Pedro Martínez marked a milestone in his native community of Manoguayabo, Santo Domingo Oeste, with the official inauguration of a modern sports and educational complex that bears his name. This project, conceived as a space for social transformation, seeks to offer new generations comprehensive tools for their professional and personal development.

During the inaugural ceremony, led by President Luis Abinader, the former baseball player emphasized that this project is the result of a long-cherished dream. Martínez took the opportunity to call on other public figures and prominent athletes in the country to commit to the well-being of their communities, using their influence to generate positive change.

It is the duty of every citizen to do so with their community, for it to be reflected in our society, in the youth that is to come. That is what I want: to serve as an example.
Pedro Martínez

A benchmark of self-improvement for the youth

The former Major League pitcher highlighted the presence of active figures such as star outfielder Juan Soto, noting that seeing young talents committed to national progress is a personal satisfaction. For Martínez, the complex represents a tangible alternative to the social challenges and violence that affect different sectors.

The project’s focus transcends the realm of baseball. Martínez emphasized that success must be understood comprehensively, motivating young people to seek excellence in various disciplines, from engineering to public administration.

- High-level academic and technical training.

- First-rate sports infrastructure.

- Strategic co-management alliance between the Dominican Government and the Pedro Martinez Foundation.

- Promotion of family values and civic discipline.

The inauguration was attended by government authorities, family members of the star former player, and representatives of Dominican sports. With this complex, Pedro Martínez reaffirms his legacy, ensuring that his greatest reward will be to see the young people of Manoguayabo training as professionals capable of transforming their environment and serving as an inspiration for the entire country.
