Starting next Saturday, October 3, remodeling and modernization work will begin on this iconic transport system, which has been out of service since June 2024 after failing to obtain the necessary safety certifications for its operation.<\/p>\n\n<p>The announcement was made by Minister Jos\u00e9 Ignacio Paliza, who confirmed that the formal opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 a.m. on the main esplanade of the facilities. This intervention is the result of a rigorous bidding process carried out during the current year, with the aim of restoring the splendor and functionality of one of the most important tourist spots in the northern part of the country.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical details and operational capacity<\/h2>\n\n<p>Although the details of the final design will be revealed as the work progresses, the authorities have announced the fundamental pillars of this project, which seeks to raise the international standards of the attraction:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Capacity increase:<\/strong> The implementation of new cabins with the capacity to transport up to 50 passengers simultaneously is projected, significantly exceeding the current limit of 18 people.<\/li><li><strong>Infrastructure optimization:<\/strong> The plan includes the comprehensive adaptation of the base and mountain terminals, as well as a technical intervention on the intermediate tower.<\/li><li><strong>Cutting-edge systems:<\/strong> A total replacement of the cabling and the updating of computerized control systems, power supply, and safety protocols will be carried out.<\/li><li><strong>Efficiency:<\/strong> One of the main objectives is to reduce travel times, guaranteeing a more agile and safe service for visitors.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The modernization of the Puerto Plata Cable Car represents a strategic investment of approximately 22 million dollars, reaffirming the State&#8217;s commitment to the reactivation and strengthening of national tourism infrastructure.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>It is estimated that, under ideal execution conditions, the project will have a development period of between 18 and 24 months.
