Although the New York organization is working cautiously on its postseason plans, the star outfielder is fully focused on the recovery of his right calf.

Judge, who was diagnosed with a moderate-grade soleus muscle strain, has been working intensely on his rehabilitation. As part of the treatment, the player received a platelet-rich plasma injection and remains on a limited activity schedule in order to accelerate his return to the field.

We have games to win. My goal is to prepare my body so I can return in time and play in the start of the playoffs.
Aaron Judge, captain of the New York Yankees

Manager Aaron Boone has noted that, while the process is moving forward, the evolution of the injury will dictate the steps to follow in the coming days. Judge’s situation is delicate, given that a grade 2 strain usually requires at least three weeks of recovery, which makes his participation a race against time.

Judge records an offensive line of .241/.360/.511 this season with 18 home runs and 41 RBIs in 66 games.

The outfielder seeks to leave behind the physical issues that have limited his participation, including a rib fracture suffered earlier in the year.

Shohei Ohtani rejoins the Dodgers lineup for the final stretch

On the other hand, in Los Angeles, the Dodgers have received positive news with the return of Shohei Ohtani to the lineup. After completing the minimum 15-day period on the injured list due to discomfort in his right bicep and left knee, the Japanese phenomenon is back to strengthen the team’s offense in the final five games of the regular season.

Ohtani was activated for the matchup against the San Diego Padres, occupying the second spot in the batting order, while Mookie Betts took the leadoff spot. Manager Dave Roberts confirmed that the player has shown notable improvement during his time off, during which he used advanced technology like the Trajekt machine to simulate at-bats without facing live pitchers.

It is important to highlight that Ohtani’s return will be exclusively as a hitter, ruling out his participation from the mound for now to preserve his physical health ahead of the postseason commitments. Before being placed on the injured list, the slugger had accumulated an outstanding performance with 30 home runs and a .902 OPS.

As a collateral move following Ohtani’s activation, the organization decided to send Dominican prospect Josué De Paula to Triple-A with the Oklahoma City team, thus adjusting its roster for the final stretch of the schedule.

Aaron Judge races against time to be ready for the postseason with the Yankees New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge maintains an optimistic and firm stance regarding his availability for the start of the American League Wild Card Series, scheduled for September 29th at Yankee Stadium.
