During an extraordinary session of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI) in Washington, the country was pointed out as a model to follow in the region for its water management and coastal sanitation strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">Ambassador Sir Ronald Sanders, Chair of CIDI, praised the Dominican Republic&#8217;s ability to structure projects with defined problems, clear sources of funding, and a technical vision that serves as a guide for other nations in the hemisphere.<\/p>\n<cite>CIDI Representation to the OAS<\/cite>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Flagship projects that transform lives<\/h3>\n\n<p>The director of INAPA highlighted that these achievements are the result of strategic planning focused on improving the quality of life for Dominicans. Among the key initiatives that are transforming the country&#8217;s infrastructure are:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Sanitation of the Gurabo Creek in Santiago:<\/strong> A comprehensive project that not only rescues the environmental surroundings but has also allowed for the relocation of vulnerable families to decent housing.<\/li><li><strong>Universal Sanitation Program for Tourist and Coastal Cities:<\/strong> An ambitious intervention covering 140 kilometers of coastline, impacting strategic areas such as Boca Chica, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, La Romana, Hig\u00fcey, and Ver\u00f3n-Punta Cana, with the support of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Institutional commitment<\/h3>\n\n<p>During the religious ceremony, Arnaud deeply thanked the entity&#8217;s collaborators for their constant dedication.
