Agents of the Specialized Directorate for Attention to Women and Intrafamily Violence (DEAMVI), attached to the National Police, managed to arrest in flagrante delicto a man accused of attempting to take the life of his romantic partner. The violent event took place in the Villa Penca sector, belonging to the municipality of Haina, in the province of San Crist\u00f3bal.<\/p>\n\n
The detainee was identified as Carlos Miguel Paredes, 47 years old. According to the official report, the individual was intercepted by officers while attempting to flee by moving across the roof of a house, shortly after having perpetrated the assault.<\/p>\n\n
The victim, whose identity is being kept confidential for security reasons, suffered stab wounds to various parts of their body. Fortunately, they are receiving medical attention at a health center, where their health condition is reported as stable.<\/p>\n\n
The attack took place during the early hours of the morning, at which time the woman managed to escape from the residence through the balcony to call for help. Unfortunately, the incident occurred in the presence of her young daughter, who is just eight years old.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
Actions of the authorities<\/h2>\n\n
After becoming aware of this serious case of domestic violence, DEAMVI personnel immediately activated protection and assistance protocols. Among the measures adopted are:<\/p>\n\n\n
- Direct assistance to the victim at the medical center and coordination with her family members.<\/li>
- Provision of specialized psychological support for both the woman and her minor daughter, in order to mitigate the emotional impact of the trauma.<\/li>
- Formalization of the complaint before the Haina Gender Violence Prosecutor’s Office by the victim’s father.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n
Carlos Miguel Paredes remains in police custody at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where he will be processed for the charges brought against him so that he may answer to justice for the damages caused.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
