The implementation of the digital platform for travel authorization permits for minors going abroad has marked a significant milestone for notarial practice in the Dominican Republic. During the month of August, the system facilitated the formalization of 439 documents, generating an economic movement of RD$1,317,000 in direct benefits for the legal professionals involved.<\/p>\n\n
According to data shared by the Dominican College of Notaries (Codenot), each of these permits entails a payment of RD$3,000 for the responsible notary. This technological advancement not only modernizes administrative processes but also represents a new source of income for the country’s legal professionals.<\/p>\n\n
Since the launch of this tool on February 3rd until the end of August, a total of 8,720 exit permits have been managed. Jhon Richard Paniagua F\u00e9liz, president of Codenot, highlighted that this is the guild’s first foray into digital notarization in its 59-year history.<\/p>\n\n\n

Scope and territorial distribution<\/h3>\n\n
To date, the program has 470 authorized notaries in 25 provinces. In August, 128 professionals actively participated, which is equivalent to 27.2% of the available registry. The guild’s projection is to continue expanding territorial coverage and increase notary participation in the next phases of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n
- Greater Santo Domingo:<\/strong> Concentrated 62.9% of operations, with 144 permits in the National District and 132 in the Santo Domingo province.<\/li>
- Other prominent provinces:<\/strong> Santiago (29), San Crist\u00f3bal (20), San Pedro de Macor\u00eds (17), Puerto Plata (16), and La Altagracia (14).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n
This process is the result of an inter-institutional effort in which the General Directorate of Migration, the General Directorate of Passports, Ogtic, the Attorney General’s Office, and the National Council of Competitiveness (CNC) collaborate, thus consolidating a more efficient and secure ecosystem for citizens who need to carry out this immigration procedure.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
