Maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz has once again become a focus of attention after attacks were reported against two cargo ships in a span of just 48 hours. According to reports issued by maritime monitoring authorities, the incidents occurred this past Wednesday and Friday, raising concerns in the international community regarding the stability of trade routes.<\/p>\n\n
Fortunately, official reports confirm that the crews of both vessels are safe and uninjured. Likewise, any environmental impact or damage resulting from these attacks, the authorship and technical origin of which are still under investigation, has been ruled out.<\/p>\n\n
These events are framed within a critical period for navigation in the region. Data collected by international organizations specializing in the maritime sector indicate that, since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East on February 28, 2026, at least 80 attacks directed against merchant vessels have been verified in the Strait of Hormuz and its adjacent areas.<\/p>\n\n
The human toll of this escalation in violence is alarming, accounting to date for 22 deaths and multiple injuries among the personnel of the merchant fleets transiting these strategic waters.<\/p>\n\n
