The National Health Service (SNS) presented a positive report on its management, revealing that between January and August 2026, a total of 42,011,203 medical services were provided nationwide. Of this figure, 34,573,131 consultations were provided at the specialized level, while 7,438,072 were concentrated in the primary care level, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to health coverage.<\/p>\n\n
Julio Landr\u00f3n, executive director of the SNS, highlighted that these results reflect a comprehensive strengthening of the Public Network, focused on optimizing infrastructure, specialized care, and the administrative management of hospital centers.<\/p>\n\n
One of the pillars of the administration has been the improvement of physical facilities. During this period, the renovation of 15 hospitals was completed, including significant improvements in emergency areas, in addition to the rehabilitation of nearly 40 Primary Care Centers. In parallel, the construction of three new centers was initiated: the Ar\u00edstides Fiallo Hospital in La Romana, the Pantoja Municipal Hospital, and the San Andr\u00e9s Pediatric Hospital in Boca Chica.<\/p>\n\n
Regarding mental health, the NHS has consolidated a network that includes 53 specialized units and more than 440 beds dedicated exclusively to crisis intervention, guaranteeing an adequate space for those who require urgent assistance.<\/p>\n\n

Financial Management and National Trauma Network<\/h2>\n\n\n

- Financial sustainability:<\/strong> Currently, 102 hospitals in the Public Network operate debt-free, which allows for greater efficiency in the use of resources.<\/li>\n
- National Trauma Network:<\/strong> Reducing response times to accidents has been prioritized. To this end, strategic helipads have been enabled at centers such as the Luis Eduardo Aybar Health City, the Juan Bosch Hospital in La Vega, and the \u00c1ngel Contreras Hospital in Monte Plata, among others.<\/li>\n
- Ongoing interventions:<\/strong> Improvement works continue at key hospitals such as the Salvador B. Gautier, the Regional Taiw\u00e1n 19 de Marzo, and the Provincial Materno Infantil Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Altagracia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n
