Controversy at the All-Star Game: Jacob Misiorowski and Mixed Reactions<\/h2>\n\nThe inclusion of young Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski in the National League team for the All-Star Game has generated diverse reactions in the baseball world.\n\nSome players and fans have expressed their discontent on social media, questioning the choice of a player with only five starts in the Major Leagues, instead of others who have performed better in the first half of the season.\n\nOn the other hand, the Los Angeles Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, who will manage the National League team in Atlanta, has a different perspective.\n\n\n

The All-Star Game is for the fans. Yes, this guy hasn’t pitched much in the Major Leagues, but I think it generates more excitement to see his speed.<\/p>Dave Roberts<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nMisiorowski, 23 years old, has quickly drawn attention, especially by throwing a 100.5 mph fastball on his first pitch in the majors. His current record is 4-1 with an ERA of 2.81.\n\nBrewers manager Pat Murphy understands the criticism, but believes Misiorowski’s selection is a way to give the fans what they want.\n\n\n

People want to see Miz throw. He’s the new shiny toy of the league. It’s not about deserving, it has nothing to do with that. He has been given this opportunity. It’s not his fault.<\/p>Pat Murphy<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nMurphy compared Misiorowski to former Detroit Tigers pitcher Mark ‘The Bird’ Fidrych.\n\nFidrych was an All-Star in his first two seasons in the majors, known for his quirk of talking to his glove on the mound.\n\nFans appreciated Fidrych and his eccentricities, backed by his talent on the mound, including 24 complete games in his rookie season in 1976.\n\n\n
