The initiative managed to mobilize 1,341 volunteers throughout the Dominican territory, who joined forces to clean up 21 beaches and strategic coastal areas.<\/p>\n\n<p>The operation, carried out in the context of World Oceans Day, resulted in the collection of 56,966.5 pounds of solid waste. Despite the weather challenges presented by the troughs that affected the country during June, the schedule was completed after carrying out 27 environmental interventions over four weekends.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact and reach on the Dominican coastline<\/h3>\n\n<p>The cleaning efforts covered a wide national geography, beginning on June 6th at key points such as Las Terrenas, Playa Los Almendros, La Caleta Underwater Park, Andr\u00e9s, Boca Chica, and Playa Guayacanes. Subsequently, the volunteer brigades moved to other destinations of high ecological and tourist importance, including:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pescadores Beach and G\u00fcibia Beach.<\/li>\n<li>Najayo Beach and Tortugas Beach.<\/li>\n<li>Sabana de la Mar Beach and El Maleconcito Beach.<\/li>\n<li>Catalina Natural Pool.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Every volunteer, every company, and every institution that decided to join this cause demonstrates that it is possible to generate real change when we work together for the same purpose.<\/p><cite>Mayker M\u00e9ndez, President of the Juventud Progresista Foundation<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<p>This collective effort had the fundamental support of the Ministry of Tourism and the company Plastiflex, in addition to the strategic collaboration of entities such as Domicem, United Petroleum, IKEA, the Dominican Civil Defense, and Vida Azul, among other community organizations that joined the cause.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ongoing commitment to sustainability<\/h3>\n\n<p>Mayker M\u00e9ndez, president of the organization, highlighted the importance of these actions not only for the health of marine ecosystems, but also as a driver to foster environmental awareness among citizens.
