Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Hunter Dobbins had to leave Friday’s game against Tampa Bay in the second inning due to right knee pain. The injury occurred after making an out covering first base.<\/p>\n
The 25-year-old pitcher received a throw from first baseman Abraham Toro and, upon stepping on the base, appeared to have a fall that caused the injury. Dobbins limped back to the mound and was removed from the game after a warm-up pitch.<\/p>\n
In the 1st inning he was on the mound, Dobbins allowed a clean run with two hits and a walk, as well as recording two strikeouts against the Rays.<\/p>\n
