The initiative seeks to ensure that children and adolescents with motor disabilities and specific needs have accessible and participatory learning environments in all public schools across the country.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Infrastructure and universal accessibility<\/h3>\n\n<p>The project establishes the mandatory requirement to enable at least one inclusive classroom, duly equipped, in every educational center within the national public network. Likewise, it contemplates the implementation of universal accessibility facilities to eliminate the physical barriers that currently limit students with reduced mobility.<\/p>\n\n<p>Among the adjustments required by the legislative piece are:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Construction of access ramps.<\/li><li>Adaptation of bathrooms for people with disabilities.<\/li><li>Widening of doors and hallways to facilitate transit.<\/li><li>Installation of visual, tactile, and podotactile signage.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Management, budget and deadlines<\/h3>\n\n<p>The responsibility for the execution, supervision, and planning of these works would fall upon the School Infrastructure Directorate of the Ministry of Education (Minerd), which must work in conjunction with the General Directorate of Special Education and the National Council on Disability (Conadis).<\/p>\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The initiative proposes integrating the necessary resources into the 2027 General State Budget, setting December 31, 2028, as the deadline for all public schools to comply with these adjustments.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<p>To ensure compliance with this goal, the project requires the Ministry of Education to submit quarterly reports to the Education Commissions of the National Congress, detailing both the physical progress of the interventions and the management of the funds allocated for such purposes.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bill promoted to guarantee inclusive classrooms in public schools National Deputy for the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Ram\u00f3n Raposo, has presented a legislative proposal with the goal of transforming the Dominican educational system.
