Tragedy after digital transaction: Details of the Emmanuel Contreras Medina case<\/h2>\n\n

The Public Prosecutor’s Office has revealed the details of the investigation that clarifies the death of Emmanuel Contreras Medina, who lost his life on September 9th after remaining in critical condition for several days. The tragic event, which has shocked the community, originated from a failed commercial transaction through digital platforms.<\/p>\n\n

According to the court file, it all began when Lenin Jhericop N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Le\u00f3n put an iPhone 15 Pro Max 256 GB up for sale on Facebook Marketplace for a value of RD$35,000. Subsequently, Joan Manuel Jim\u00e9nez Medina contacted the victim, offering them the same device for a significantly lower sum: RD$15,000.<\/p>\n\n

The fatal encounter in Los Praditos<\/h3>\n\n

After making a bank transfer to Jim\u00e9nez Medina, the victim was summoned to the La Javilla baseball stadium, in the Los Praditos sector, to pick up the device. According to the authorities’ account, the conflict broke out when Contreras Medina received the phone and was preparing to leave, at which point N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Le\u00f3n began demanding full payment for the device.<\/p>\n\n\n

Feeling like a victim of a robbery, Contreras Medina attempted to flee the scene. At that moment, he was pursued by N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Le\u00f3n, who was carrying a bat. According to the report, the accused managed to catch up to the victim, delivering severe blows to his back and head that caused him to collapse onto the pavement.<\/p>\nPublic Ministry details regarding the assault<\/cite>\n\n\n

The file adds that, taking advantage of the fact that the victim was lying on the ground, the aggressor stole the mobile phone that he was carrying in his pockets. This act was witnessed by eyewitnesses and was recorded on security cameras installed in the area.<\/p>\n\n

Outcome and judicial process<\/h3>\n\n

Following the brutal assault, coaches at the sports complex requested help from the 9-1-1 system and notified the victim’s relatives. Contreras Medina was rushed to the Ney Arias Lora Trauma Hospital, where doctors fought to save his life for several days under intensive care, unfortunately passing away on September 9.<\/p>\n\n\n
