This measure responds to the detection of suspected cases of anthrax in the neighboring nation of Haiti, a situation that has generated concern in various sectors of the Dominican population.<\/p>\n\n<p>Despite public concern, the authorities have been emphatic in pointing out that, so far, no cases of this disease have been registered in the country and that there is no current health emergency. The Minister of Public Health, V\u00edctor Atallah, highlighted that the current deployment is a purely preventive strategy aimed at strengthening the response capacity and timely detection in health centers.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is anthrax and how is it transmitted?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Anthrax, scientifically known as carbuncle, is a condition caused by the bacterium <em>Bacillus anthracis<\/em>.
