According to the most recent data provided by the Central Bank, the country reached 23.289 billion dollars in exports during the period between January and July 2025, which represents an increase of 9.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Shrimp leads the exportable supply<\/h3>\n\n<p>The shrimp sector remains the main engine of the country&#8217;s external sales. This product recorded revenues of 5.765 billion dollars, experiencing solid growth of 17.6%. For its part, the oil sector positioned itself in second place with 5.724 billion dollars, while mining stood out with an impressive advance of 43.5%, totaling 3.179 billion dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Banana and plantain:<\/strong> Recorded 2.739 billion dollars, with an increase of 7.5%.<\/li><li><strong>Cocoa and derivatives:<\/strong> Presented a significant year-on-year drop of 54.6%, closing at 1.195 billion dollars.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Export performance in July was remarkable, reaching 3.717 billion dollars, which reflects a growth of 48.5% compared to the same month of the previous year.<\/p><cite>Alofoke Deportes<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Trade balance and import behavior<\/h3>\n\n<p>Regarding imports, the country closed the first seven months of the year with a total of 20.445 billion dollars, an increase of 17.5%. Despite this increase, Ecuador managed to maintain a trade surplus of 2.843 billion dollars.<\/p>\n\n<p>The fuel and lubricants category led foreign purchases with 5.372 billion dollars, reflecting an increase of 35.3%.
