According to the council members, although the operating cost of the service has increased, efficiency has decreased drastically. &#8220;We are paying more for trash collection and the service is worse,&#8221; emphasized De Jes\u00fas, who urged the municipal administration to reorganize routes and strengthen the supervision of the contracted companies.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">Santiago deserves an administration that solves problems, not one that gets used to disorder.<\/p>\n<cite>PLD Council Members Bloc in Santiago<\/cite>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concern regarding debt with the Employee Cooperative<\/h3>\n\n<p>Another critical point raised by the council members is the delay in payments to the City Council Employees&#8217; Cooperative, a figure that amounts to RD$26,590,000 accumulated over four months. The breakdown presented by the bloc is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>May: RD$3,432,717.65<\/li><li>June: RD$7,581,492.37<\/li><li>July: RD$7,702,847.48<\/li><li>August: RD$7,872,857.92<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<p>Faced with this situation, they demand an immediate financial reconciliation and a defined payment plan to honor the commitments deducted from municipal workers.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participatory Budget projects under the magnifying glass<\/h3>\n\n<p>The bloc denounced that projects approved in the 2026 Participatory Budget, dating back to November 2025, are still in the bidding phase. Sectors such as Yapurt Dumit, Embrujo I, Villa Hortensia, Miraflores, and La Joya are still waiting for these works. The council members criticized the intention to plan the 2027 budget without having fulfilled the pending commitments from previous years.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Transparency at Yaque Hosting<\/h3>\n\n<p>Regarding the intervention of the Yaque Lodging, the council members valued the support of the central government, but requested greater clarity regarding the budget, the work schedule, and the actual percentage of progress of the project, stressing that oversight is their fundamental duty.<\/p>\n\n<p>Finally, the PLD council members&#8217; bloc clarified that their demands are not a response to systematic opposition, but rather the fulfillment of their oversight role protected by Law 176-07. &#8220;Santiago does not need more excuses, announcements, or groundbreaking ceremonies.
