Askren, who was hospitalized in Wisconsin due to a severe case of pneumonia, shared the news via his social media.\n\nIn a published video, Askren revealed that he has few memories of what happened during a period of one month, from the end of May to the first days of July. His wife, Amy, had reported in previous publications that Askren was connected to a ventilator in June and subsequently included on the donor list for a lung transplant on June 24.\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>I don&#8217;t remember anything, I have no idea what happened.<\/p><cite>Ben Askren<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\nAskren also mentioned that he lost around 50 pounds during this 45-day period.\n\nThe 40-year-old wrestler was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, but has primarily resided in Wisconsin, where he runs a wrestling academy for young people.
