The main objective of this alliance is to bolster institutional integrity mechanisms and optimize the prevention of bribery in the management of state funds.<\/p>\n\n<p>The signing of the agreement, held in Washington, D. C., was led by the president of the Chamber of Accounts, Emma Polanco Melo, and the OAS assistant secretary general, Albert R. Ramdin. This pact sets a precedent in the modernization of audit processes in the country.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Training and international standards<\/h3>\n\n<p>As the central pillar of the agreement, the OAS will provide specialized technical assistance for the implementation of the ISO 37001 standard. This international standard is fundamental for the design of effective anti-bribery management systems, allowing organizations to proactively prevent, detect, and manage corruption risks.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In-depth institutional diagnosis of internal processes.<\/li><li>Technical training of personnel on anti-bribery regulations.<\/li><li>Specialized support from OAS experts.<\/li><li>Integration of global best practices in public oversight.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>The agreement we are signing today with the OAS General Secretariat represents a milestone in our transformation and focuses specifically on strengthening our anti-bribery management system.<\/p><cite>Emma Polanco Melo, President of the Chamber of Accounts<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Boosting democratic governance<\/h3>\n\n<p>For his part, Albert R. Ramdin underscored the importance of oversight institutions as pillars of democracy. The official highlighted that this collaboration is a firm step toward consolidating more transparent and accountable public management to the citizenry.<\/p>\n\n<p>This initiative adds to other international commitments of the country, such as the Inter-American Open Data Program (PIDA) and the Follow-Up Mechanism for the Implementation of the Inter-American Convention against Corruption (MESICIC), reaffirming the Dominican commitment to public integrity.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International vision: Alliances with the United States<\/h3>\n\n<p>As part of her work agenda, the president of the Chamber of Accounts also held a strategic meeting with representatives of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).
