The Minister of Labor, Eddy Olivares, led the event titled “Childhood with Purpose, Future with Opportunities,” held in the municipality of Boca Chica. During this meeting, which took place at the Vitalina Mordan de Cruz school, the official highlighted that education is the fundamental pillar to prevent minors from being prematurely integrated into the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nWe came here to fight an unacceptable scourge, which is the abuse of child labor. When a child is in school, learning and preparing for the future, they are where they should be.<\/p>\nEddy Olivares, Minister of Labor<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
Education as a protective shield<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
According to the minister, the Government has strengthened the educational assistance system to eliminate the barriers that prevent students from remaining in the classrooms. Among the highlighted measures are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Comprehensive school feeding programs.<\/li>\n
- Provision of uniforms and school supplies.<\/li>\n
- High-quality student transportation service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Olivares emphasized that these actions seek to offer families dignified conditions so that their children can fully develop without the need to turn to labor activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interinstitutional action and oversight<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Labor has increased its supervisory operations throughout the national territory in order to identify and prevent risk situations. The strategy is not limited to oversight, but integrates inter-institutional efforts to offer a comprehensive response to the most vulnerable communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Key entities participate in this collaborative effort, such as the Sup\u00e9rate program, the Ministries of Education and Interior and Police, INFOTEP, CONANI, CONADIS, and the Ministry of Women, among others. This coordination seeks to ensure that the country maintains minimum levels of child labor, positioning itself as a regional benchmark in the protection of children’s rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
