The Chamber of Accounts of the Dominican Republic is making significant progress in the creation of its 2026-2029 Institutional Strategic Plan, a project designed to define the priorities and lines of action that will guide the organization’s management in the coming years. The details of this process were shared during the Forty-Seventh Ordinary Session of the Control Board, where various actors of the public system exchanged key proposals.<\/p>\n\n
International consultant Nelson Shack was in charge of presenting the progress of the document and explaining the implementation of the Control and Oversight Management System (SIGECOF). This system is fundamental for improving interoperability between the institutions that make up the state control ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n

Innovation and institutional transformation<\/h2>\n\n
The project, supported by the International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) Development Initiative (IDI), is part of the modernization vision promoted by the institution’s Plenary. The main objective is to strengthen technical capacities and foster a more coordinated and efficient audit system.<\/p>\n\n
Regarding the relevance of SIGECOF, Plenary member Griselda G\u00f3mez Santana highlighted that this tool will be vital for optimizing the exchange of information between the agencies responsible for public control. As she detailed, this effort responds directly to the vision of the organization’s president, Emma Polanco Melo, aimed at raising standards of transparency and responsiveness to the current demands of public management.<\/p>\n\n
Multisectoral participation in the Control Table<\/h2>\n\n
The session, held at the institution’s headquarters, was attended by the authorities of the Chamber of Accounts, including Vice President Francisco Tam\u00e1rez Florentino, along with members Francisco Franco, Ram\u00f3n M\u00e9ndez Acosta, and Griselda G\u00f3mez Santana. The event was coordinated by Gaudy Crisp\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n
The meeting brought together representatives from various key State entities, strengthening inter-institutional dialogue. Among the participating organizations, the following stand out:<\/p>\n\n\n
