The fundamental purpose is to establish clear consequences for those organizations that are used as instruments for the commission of crimes.<\/p>\n\n
During his participation in the Industrial Meeting organized by the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD), Reynoso clarified that the dissolution of a corporate entity must be an exceptional measure, reserved exclusively for cases of extreme gravity or when it is proven that the company was created for illicit purposes from its inception.<\/p>\n\n

Combating shell companies and unfair competition<\/h2>\n\n
The magistrate recalled that the Dominican judicial system already has experience in sanctioning legal entities thanks to legislation on money laundering. Since 2020, nearly 100 companies have been dissolved, the vast majority being shell companies linked to organized crime, which operate as fronts for illicit activities.<\/p>\n\n
Reynoso warned that these criminal structures not only threaten national security, but also affect the competitiveness of the productive sector. By evading tax and labor obligations, these entities manage to offer artificially low prices, harming formal companies that comply with the law and generate decent jobs.<\/p>\n\n
New requirements for the productive sector<\/h2>\n\n
For his part, the president of the AIRD, Julio Virgilio Brache, highlighted that the entry into force of the new Penal Code marks an institutional milestone that forces the private sector to raise its management standards. According to Brache, the concept of corporate criminal risk must now be a central pillar in the administration of organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n
