Mar\u00eda Contreras, a janitor at the Pedro Henr\u00edquez Ure\u00f1a school in Los Bajos de Haina, reported that, after three years of service, she receives a monthly salary of RD$12,000, an amount that must cover her basic needs while she maintains the hygiene of entire pavilions, classrooms, and common areas from the early hours of the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francisca de la Cruz, an administrative employee, highlighted that her duties cover a wide range of school processes that require constant attention throughout the school year. For his part, Frank Luis \u00c1lvarez, representative of La Altagracia province, emphasized that his salary of RD$15,000 is far from the values required to afford the current basic food basket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
