The updated toll this Wednesday confirms the death of 1,225 people, while rescue teams continue the active search for 4,757 individuals who remain missing.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Critical situation in Nepalese territory<\/h3>\n\n<p>Nepal&#8217;s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has reported 1,204 fatalities so far. Search efforts continue with the deployment of more than 21,000 personnel, who have successfully rescued 11,993 people in the northern and central regions of the country.<\/p>\n\n<p>Among the missing, authorities have identified 583 foreign citizens. Although uncertainty surrounds a large portion of the people who have not been located, it has been confirmed that three Spanish citizens who were outside the impact zone have been contacted and are safe.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">The magnitude of this event is unprecedented in recent history, with a rise in the Trishuli River that reached levels of up to 18 meters above its normal channel, wiping out settlements along 72 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact on the Tibet region<\/h3>\n\n<p>For its part, the government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, in China, reported on the situation in Gyirong County. To date, 21 deaths have been recorded and 541 people are missing, of which 261 are foreign nationals.<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>More than 2,300 emergency personnel are working on the ground.<\/li><li>Ground access to the most affected area has been established after intense days of debris removal.<\/li><li>Chinese rescue teams have responded to nearly 900 calls from family members and recovered hundreds of personal belongings in the area.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Damage to regional infrastructure<\/h3>\n\n<p>The disaster, which originated on August 26, has left devastating consequences for connectivity and the local economy.
