With the goal of transforming health indicators in the country, Dr. Julio C\u00e9sar Landr\u00f3n, executive director of the National Health Service (SNS), led a strategic working group with the directors of maternal and child hospitals of the Public Network and prominent representatives of specialized medical societies.<\/p>\n\n
The meeting, which featured the participation of leaders from the Dominican Society of Neonatology, Pediatrics, and Perinatal Medicine, sought to establish a joint roadmap to strengthen comprehensive care for pregnant women and newborns, optimizing medical protocols nationwide.<\/p>\n\n
The experience of medical societies is fundamental to identify which aspects of care we must review and strengthen. The initiative was supported by Dr. Bernardino Vitoy, representative of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in the Dominican Republic, who highlighted the importance of integrating various sectors in the search for sustainable solutions for the healthcare system.<\/p>\n\n
During the session, the specialists agreed on the need to reinforce good clinical practices and ensure that every health center has the necessary mechanisms to safeguard the lives of mothers and their children. Among the key points addressed, the following were highlighted:<\/p>\n\n\n
- Strengthening care protocols in critical areas.<\/li>
- Integrating technical knowledge from medical societies into NHS policies.<\/li>
- The commitment of hospital directors to implement immediate operational improvements.<\/li>
- Inter-institutional cooperation with international bodies to ensure global standards of care.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n
