The Dominican Government, through the School Infrastructure Directorate (DIE) of the Ministry of Education, has taken a significant step in improving the national education system. With the goal of optimizing response capacity and ensuring dignified spaces for teaching, the simultaneous delivery of 186 new classrooms intended for the initial level was carried out in the National District and various provinces of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This initiative, which benefits more than 6,500 students, is part of the efforts led by the current administration to ensure that 3, 4, and 5-year-old boys and girls have adequate facilities for their comprehensive development from early childhood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Engineer Roberto Herrera, Director of School Infrastructure, reported that these works are part of the ambitious \u201cClassrooms 24\/7-365\u201d plan. As he detailed, the investment for this project exceeds 800 million pesos, reaffirming the state’s commitment to the modernization of educational centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nThe goal that the 24-7 plan has set for this school year is about 1,500 classrooms. The projection we already have for September is that we are going to exceed 1,600 classrooms. National distribution and comprehensive approach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The expansion of educational infrastructure has had a national reach, reaching strategic points of the territory:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Northern Region:<\/strong> Significant progress in provinces such as La Vega, Puerto Plata, Espaillat, Valverde, Duarte, and Hermanas Mirabal.<\/li>\n
- Southern Region:<\/strong> Deliveries in San Juan, Azua, Independencia, Barahona, Bahoruco, and San Jos\u00e9 de Ocoa.<\/li>\n
- Eastern Region and Greater Santo Domingo:<\/strong> Key investments in Santo Domingo province, National District, La Altagracia, El Seibo, San Pedro de Macor\u00eds, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, and La Romana.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
For her part, the Director of Early Childhood Education, Elvira de la Cruz, highlighted that this deployment responds to the fundamental right of children to receive quality education from their early years, complying with the legal regulations in force in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Constant maintenance of the facilities<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Regarding inquiries about educational centers that are still undergoing renovations, Herrera emphasized that the maintenance strategy has changed. The DIE has implemented a continuous work system that does not depend exclusively on school holidays, executing improvement tasks throughout the year, including weekends and extended hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The institution reiterated that construction and corrective maintenance work will continue to be a national priority, covering not only the initial level, but also the basic and high school levels, to ensure that public infrastructure meets the needs of the educational community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
